DEPUTY SECRETARY-GENERAL'S ADDRESS

"Sometimes, even if you know how something's gonna end, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride."
— Ted Mosby

LMCMUN 2026 is exactly the kind of place where you’ll need to take chances, whether it’s defending an idea, negotiating an unexpected alliance, or just surviving a debate without completely losing your mind. This is where thinking on your feet isn’t optional; it’s mandatory.

The world we live in today is unpredictable and complex. Geopolitical tensions, economic instability, and conflicts across the globe remind us that every choice matters. From territorial disputes in Eastern Europe to shifting alliances in the Middle East, from trade wars to humanitarian crises, the decisions of nations have far-reaching consequences.LMCMUN gives you a chance to step into this reality. You will draft resolutions, propose moderated and unmoderated caucuses, negotiate clauses, and make strategic motions, all while testing your understanding of diplomacy. Every speech, every amendment, and every vote will challenge you to think critically, collaborate effectively, and lead decisively.

Over the next three days, you’ll experience debates that are unpredictable, intense, and occasionally exhausting. You’ll argue, compromise, and maybe even question why you signed up for this, but that is exactly what makes it memorable. LMCMUN is about figuring out how to work with people who think differently from you, making tough calls under pressure, and seeing just how far your ideas can reach. From the halls where old empires fight overpower and survival to the council rooms deciding the fate of humanity’s first Martian colonies, every committee is a world of its own, full of decisions that demand strategy, creativity, and teamwork sometimes all at once.

As your Deputy Secretary-General, I promise that these three days will be unforgettable, that every argument, every collaboration, and every misstep becomes part of the story you will carry home. LMCMUN 2026 is not just about awards; it is about the journey, the experience, and the legacy you help create in these halls. And so, as this story begins, make your debates count, make your ideas impactful, and above all, make it…Legend… wait for it… dary!
